Lucy Cavendish College launched fundraising campaign to boost social mobility and confront the most pressing global issues of the day

UPDATE: Since the publication of this article we have unlocked the £50,000 matched funding pledged, raising £100,000. With your support we can reach 250 supporters to unlock an additional gift of £1000!

Lucy Cavendish College has launched yesterday LucyGives Giving Week, an online fundraising (18-25 October) that encourages the community to support all our remarkable students, to provide them with the best of Cambridge’s education and research, advancing the College’s mission to boost social mobility and confront the most pressing global issues of the day.

Over 7 days during LucyGives (18-25 October), your support has the power to achieve even more than you think:

  1. If you donate before the first £50,000 is raised, your gift will be doubled thanks to matched funding pledged by alumnae and friends

  2. To ensure LucyGives gets off to a flying start, a Lucy alumna has set a challenge! She has agreed to donate £1000 should we gain our first 50 donations within the first 24 hours of the Giving Week. This is just one of a number of challenge donations, waiting to be unlocked by the generosity of people across the Lucy community. Take a look here to find more information on challenges set by alumnae and friends https://lucygives.lucy.cam.ac.uk/challenges/

  3. Since all gifts for LucyGives support our students, an additional contribution will be unlocked, pound for pound, towards a special fund for Undergraduate Student Support with thanks to the University’s Harding Challenge, for those who:

    1. Give to Lucy for the first time

    2. Last gave to Lucy in the 2019-20 and their gift then was eligible for the Harding Challenge

    3. Last gave to Lucy on or before 31 July 2018

So, there really never has been a better time to support Lucy!

About LucyGives

With the help of the worldwide Lucy community through LucyGives (18-25 October), we can achieve the College’s mission in the most meaningful and collaborative way.

Together, we’ll raise funds during LucyGives to help us level the playing field, ensuring those from under-represented or disadvantaged backgrounds can thrive academically and make the most of all that Cambridge has to offer. We’ll ensure they develop the skills required to achieve their career ambitions, so that they really can go on to make a positive impact on the world.
