What’s your passion? Whether it’s supporting our Fellows' pioneering research, transforming the life of a talented student or securing our future as a College truly representative of society, you can focus your gift by giving to something that is close to your heart.
By making an unrestricted gift, you will be showing your long-term commitment to the College by investing in our future and helping us to develop all aspects of College activity.
Your gift will allow us to be flexible and agile, innovative and ground-breaking. It will help us to:
- take advantage of exciting and ambitious development opportunities
- realise our strategic priorities more swiftly
- plan ahead financially
- respond to the emerging needs of the College and its students
- provide support to areas of greatest need.
Donors who give to unrestricted purposes will receive an annual report showing how their gift has been used and its impact and they will be invited to take part in our programme of exclusive supporter events.
Supporting our students
Gifts to support our students help those who, without financial assistance, would not be able to come to the College. They deliver an enriched student experience including study support, employability, wellbeing and extramural activities.
The diversity of our student backgrounds is a defining characteristic of the College and we aim to create equality of opportunity for all our students. Undergraduate awards, hardship grants and graduate studentships enable our students to focus on maximising their Cambridge careers without worrying about financial barriers.
Through the visionary philanthropy of David and Claudia Harding, Cambridge has an exciting opportunity to enhance the impact of your generosity. All gifts from new donors in support of our students will unlock, pound for pound, a contribution to a special fund for undergraduate financial support. Your donation will benefit both our students and students in greatest need across Cambridge. Gifts of any size up to £100,000 qualify - every pound makes a difference.
Supporting our academics
Through a radical approach to research and education - and a commitment to academic excellence - the College is developing a community dedicated to finding solutions to some of the most important issues facing our society. Our teaching and research Fellows are also world-class role-models for students at the College. Gifts in support of our academics will help us provide opportunities for ambitious early-career researchers and attract and retain leading subject experts.
Supporting our Library
Our Library is a space for independent learning, exploration and discovery. Under the stewardship of a dedicated and knowledgeable team, it provides an ever-expanding collection of books, e-journals, periodicals and reference resources as well as special collections. By supporting our Library, you are helping to maintain and further develop a truly inspirational learning environment.
Supporting excellence and participation in sport and the performing arts
The positive impact on well-being of participation in sport and the performing arts is well documented. Here at the College we encourage all our students, whatever their background or previous experience, to ‘join in’. Whether it is rowing or rugby, singing or drama, playing the violin or a steel pan, we want our students to benefit from the rich and varied pursuits that Cambridge offers. By supporting these activities you will eliminate the hurdles that students from the lowest-income backgrounds face when they wish to participate in extra-curricular activities. You will enable them to purchase equipment and kit and contribute to travel costs to performances and matches. Your gift will also help to upgrade facilities such as the gym and award prizes for exceptional achievement.
