Mengmou is a postdoctoral researcher in the Control Group of the Department of Engineering. He has experience in control theory and optimization algorithms. His current research is on the analysis and control of large-scale networks with applications in power systems. A main task is to design distributed control strategies that guarantee system stability under various challenges arising from large-scale networks such as communication delays or external disturbance. Prior to coming to Cambridge, he obtained his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, The University of Hong Kong, working on distributed optimization, which involves coordinately minimizing the sum of a group of objective functions by local computing units via limited communication among local units.

In addition to research, Mengmou enjoys football, gym workout, games, and making friends.
