Rob is a post-doctoral research associate working in the Biochemistry Department, using a combination of biochemical and bioinformatic techniques to study the transmission of RNA between organisms. A current research focus involves studying the social transmission of RNA molecules between Western Honeybees (Apis mellifera) and the role these molecules play in forming social immunity within the hive.

Prior to working at Cambridge, Rob was a Forensic Biologist working as a Reporting Scientist and Expert Witness in the UK Criminal Justice System. Rob has given evidence in hundreds of criminal cases including for high-profile, and counterterrorism investigations.

Rob has taken on the role of Welfare Officer and sits on the committee of Cambridge University Judo Club.
