Session Information

In this session, we will provide a detailed overview of the University of Cambridge's Admissions Process, discussing the differences between applying to Cambridge and applying other universities, and the various steps involved. We will provide guidance on how to best advise your students, and we hope that the comprehensive information we will provide will allow you to more confidently inform students of the required steps.

The post-16 subject choices that students make can have a major impact on their course and university options. Selective universities such as the University of Cambridge often require applicants to have qualifications in certain subjects, or combinations of subjects, because they prepare students more effectively for degree courses. In this session, we will discuss how to provide students with appropriate guidance on choosing post-16 qualifications and subjects.

In this session, we will cover what admissions assessments are looking for, their role in our admissions process, and detailed guidance on how schools can support students preparing for admissions assessments.

In this session, we will discuss the format of Cambridge interviews, what interviewers are looking for, and how to prepare students for their Oxbridge interview. We will work through some sample questions together to understand the key skills involved in the interview.

From personal statements and predicted grades to admissions assessments and interviews, there are a lot of misconceptions about applying to Cambridge. In this session, we will bust some of these myths so that you can provide accurate and up-to-date advice to your students about making a competitive application to Cambridge and other highly selective universities.
