As well as a good degree, our students want a great job when they graduate.

“Optimise your Future”, our bespoke careers initiative, offers support and guidance at all stages of your career development in college. Designed to complement your academic work, it is run in close collaboration with the University Careers Service and is an addition to their already comprehensive offering. Optimise your Future offers a framework to explore and plan your next steps. The programme is supported by access to a Careers Adviser in College.

CareersEngagement with the Careers Service starts from the very beginning of your studies at our college, with an introduction during Bridging week for undergraduates and during the slightly shorter Bridging programme for graduates. In regular tutorial meetings you will be able to discuss how you can make the most of the opportunities available.

Our alumni are represented in fields right across the labour market and the globe.  Our "Catalyst" panels offer you the chance to engage with alumni at all stages of their careers as well as with experts from a range of disciplines, to help you focus your career ambitions.

We also run joint events each term with other colleges, including an "MBA in a day" and "Speed Mentoring in an evening", drawing also on our business partners and their expertise. Working with business partners, the Optimise your Future programme provides opportunities to build up professional networks within Cambridge and beyond. In addition to opportunities available in the wider University, the college runs events such as “Lucy in London” – an event for our law students to meet and listen to lawyers from a wide range of legal occupations in the City.
