The garden party brought together generations of the College Community to honour the College’s past and embrace its future.

Last Friday, Lucy Cavendish College welcomed students, alumni, staff, Fellows, and friends to a busy and well-attended garden party to celebrate the College’s 60th anniversary.

Guests gathered in the College gardens and enjoyed live performances from a string quartet, and popular Cambridge bands Hot Content, and Lost Projects, a student ensemble featuring current Lucy students.

It was a pleasure to see such a wide mix of people—from across generations and roles—coming together in the heart of the College. The atmosphere was lively, with conversation, music, and a strong sense of community throughout the afternoon.

Both our current President, Professor Dame Madeleine Atkins, and incoming President, Girish Menon, were present at the event. Madeleine and Girish are already working closely together to ensure a seamless transition that builds on the College’s positive momentum.

The event provided a powerful moment to reflect on how far the College has come - and to look ahead to an exciting future.
