Academic Enrichment Programme: Supporting students to achieve their full potential
The College's flagship virtual outreach programme will start again in November, supporting over 700 high-achieving state school students.
The Academic Attainment Programme is the College's flagship outreach programme, supporting high-achieving UK state school students to realise their full potential through a 12-month programme of subject-specific support tailored to their stage in the curriculum.
The Academic Attainment Programme comprises three, linked elements: the Summer Preparation Programme, the Academic Enrichment Programme, and the Summer Application Bootcamp. Participants automatically progress onto the next stage of the programme and, at each stage, we also offer additional students the chance to join the programme. Further information about each of the programmes, including details of how to apply, can be found in the dropdown boxes below.
The Summer Preparation Programme is the first stage of the Academic Attainment Programme, taking place across 4 weeks in the summer holidays between Year 11 (S4 - Scotland, Y12 - N.I.) and Year 12 (S5 - Scotland, Y13 - N.I.).
The programme is designed to bridge the gap between GCSE (National 5/equivalent) study to A-Levels (IB/Scottish Highers and Advanced Highers/equivalent) by providing students with a month-long programme of academic enrichment tailored to their stage of the curriculum. The programme will consist of study skills workshops on a range of important themes such as time management and essay writing, university readiness sessions to support students as they plan their next steps to top Universities like Cambridge, and substantive knowledge sessions, designed to supplement students' foundational academic knowledge so that they can hit the ground running when they start their A-Levels (IB/Scottish Highers and Advanced Highers/equivalent).
Applications for the Summer Preparation Programme are now open - find out more and apply using the link below.
Applications for the Academic Enrichment Programme 2023/24 will open in September. Students who participated in the Summer Preparation Programme will automatically progress onto the Academic Enrichment Programme and do not need to apply separately.
