Introducing our Careers event for students in year 12 (or equivalent)
Our brand virtual event on the 12th June 2021 aims to show students the many exciting careers a degree from Cambridge can lead to. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet inspiring Lucy Cavendish College alumnae, as well as receive information and guidance from the Careers Service. By attending this event we hope students will:
- Improve their understanding of degree choices at the University of Cambridge
- Understand how different degrees can lead to a wide variety of fascinating careers
- Feel motivated to aim as high as possible in both their degree choice and career aspirations
What does the event involve?
Attendees will firstly attend an introductory webinar on Cambridge degrees and career choices at 5pm on the 4th June, and will also receive further resources from the Careers Resources to look through independently. Students will then attend the virtual careers day on the 12th June, which will be led by Lucy Cavendish College's admissions team, the University Careers Service and Lucy Cavendish College alumnae representing the following broad careers areas:
- Law
- Medicine
- Business, Development and Social Innovation
The Careers Day is primarily focused on allowing students to meet our alumnae. Students can choose to attend up to two different 45 minute group sessions from the three different subject areas, and hear from our alumnae who will share their experiences as Lucy Cavendish College students and their journey to their different careers.
