Q+A and 1-1 Zoom drop in sessions for prospective applicants
We are running a general Q+A session on Thursday and a 1-1 Admissions Clinic on Friday, aimed at prospective applicants for 2021 entry, including students currently in Year 13 (or the equivalent), post-qualification applicants and prospective mature applicants (aged 21 and over). These sessions offer students the chance to meet a member of our admissions team and ask any questions you may have about applying to the College and what it is like to study here. You can join at any point in the sessions- we will simply keep you in the waiting room until a member of the admissions team is free.
You can register in advance using this form to receive the full Zoom details, or simply join by following the link that we will publish here before each session. We look forward to meeting you then!
Thursday 17th September 15.00-17.00
Owing to very high demand this session is now a general Q+A. It will no longer be possible to speak to an admissions team member 1-1, but we are still taking questions from the group. Here are the Zoom details:

Who we are
Founded in 1965 as a College for mature women, Lucy Cavendish has a 50 year tradition of admitting talented individuals from non-traditional and underrepresented backgrounds. Our Alumnae and Honorary Fellows include an Oscar Winning actress, award winning writers, politicians, the first female director of MI5 and an Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations.
Our mission has always been to provide opportunities for underrepresented students to study at Cambridge. Our new admissions policy, which will take effect from this autumn, updates this for the 21st Century.
Students of all genders can now apply to study here and we welcome both standard age and mature applicants. We offer all subjects available at Cambridge at both standard and affiliate entry. We accept students from all backgrounds.
What we stand for
Diversity, widening participation and social mobility are at the heart of our everything we do. We seek to make a positive change to the world in which we live.
As a former College for mature women, we understand that academic potential manifests itself in diverse ways. We have decades of experience of identifying academic potential in prospective applicants from non-traditional backgrounds and supporting these students to achieve their full potential once at the University.
Under our new admissions policy, people from every background will meet, mix and share ideas. We are particularly interested to identify and admit students who share our values and wish to make a positive contribution to society and to use their careers to tackle the problems the world faces.
We are a driving force for change - come and join our modern and forwarding thinking College.
Our Admissions Policy
We are proud to take a bold stance on widening participation in admissions. From October 2020 we will accept applications from students of all genders and ages to study at the College, for admittance in October 2021. Uniquely among Cambridge Colleges, we aim to admit the majority of our students from underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds and to build a student community that is representative of wider UK society.
For academically outstanding students seeking an unrivaled education and a community that reflects modern society, Lucy Cavendish offers a unique environment in the heart of the historic university that all can truly call home.

Lucy in a few words
We are proud to be a different kind of Cambridge College: a modern, informal environment. We offer the experience of a world-class, global university on a human scale.
But don't just take our word for it, here is how one of our students, Kathleen Schwind, International Relations and Politics, describes her College.
A day in the life of a Lucy student
Hear all about life at Lucy from current student Signe!
Signe comes from Denmark and is about to go into her second year as an undergrad studying Psychological and Behavioural Sciences. Her favourite thing about Lucy Cavendish is the wonderful garden (especially in sunshine) and meeting new Lucians at Elevensies at the library
