Lucy Cavendish College's programme focuses on the skills, techniques, and approaches students need to thrive academically.

Our academic skills programme, Maximise Your Potential, is one of several unique programmes being run at Lucy Cavendish to support students before, during and after their time here.

We want all of our students to get the most out of their academic studies and ultimately the best results they can on their chosen Tripos or Masters course.

We have a core list of online guides and resources available to students, accessible any time they might need them.

We offer bookable 1:1 sessions, should they need help in a particular area of their studies.

We also run a selection of popular group workshops each term on particular aspects of study.

The sessions and resources are available to all our undergraduate and graduate students; some are relevant to everyone, and some are specific to the level of their qualification.

Head of Student Skills, Suzanne Tonkin says, “The Maximise Your Academic Potential programme empowers our students to excel in their studies, and provides them with a suite of tools and techniques that will be highly valuable in their chosen careers”.

Sessions and resources include, but are not limited to:

  • Time management
  • Critical reading
  • Note making
  • Writing
  • Referencing and citations
  • Zotero
