At Lucy Cavendish College we have a dedicated team of professionals to look after our students' health and wellbeing.

Studying at Cambridge can be challenging: the terms are short and the academic standards are high. So we support our students throughout their time in College with comprehensive pastoral care, to make sure they have the resources and guidance to thrive.

We have a dedicated team of experienced and understanding practitioners, who can offer support, resources, and guidance to all students. We also run mindfulness sessions, fun activities during the exam period, and a wide range of events.

We are delighted to introduce the three new members of our Health and Wellbeing team.

Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner, Sarah Murray.

Whether you're dealing with academic stress, personal challenges, or simply want someone to talk to, Sarah can lend an empathetic ear and help students navigate their college journey. As each student's path is unique, our service is tailored to meet individual mental health and wellbeing needs and create, together, a personalised plan to help students achieve their goals.

Specific Learning Difficulties Practitioner, Sara Halliwell.

Sara’s background is in Special Educational Needs & Disabilities. Part of her role is to be the Access & Disabilities Liaison Officer for Lucy Cavendish and as such can work with students to access support, including writing Student Support Documents (SSDs).

Sara can also help students understand their learning profile so that they can study effectively.

College Nurse, Anna Richardson.
Anna offers a confidential service and can help with a wide variety of medical health (such as minor illness and injury, management of long-term conditions, and sexual health advice). She can refer and signpost to NHS services and can refer to College and University resources. Bookable clinic appointments are available face-to-face, online (TEAMs) and via telephone.

Getting the support students need is straightforward; we have introduced a new and improved online booking system to schedule appointments with the practitioner. Current students can access it via our members’ area.

Assistant Senior Tutor: Pastoral, Sophie Hughes says: "We are really proud of the Health and Wellbeing Team here at Lucy. I am incredibly excited that Lucy continues to innovate and lead change in pastoral support at Cambridge".
