Suggested by Lucy student, Will Jonas, the winner is... Dame Judi Drench!
We are thrilled to announce the winning name for the College punt: "Dame Judi Drench". The name, suggested by Lucy student, Will Jonas, was selected through a community-wide competition and voting process.
The competition, organised by the College's newly formed Punt Society, drew in enthusiastic participation from students, alumni, staff, and Fellows. Five shortlisted entries were put to a vote, with "Dame Judi Drench" emerging as the clear favourite.
Will Jonas will receive two free punting sessions as a prize for the winning suggestion. As the punting season starts shortly, the name will be painted on after the season ends to minimise downtime.
Lucy Cavendish College extends its thanks to everyone who took part in this exciting naming process, and of course to Honorary Fellow Dame Judi Dench who kindly agreed to the use of her name.
