Alumna Dr Jane Hastie (formerly Nixon - Veterinary Medicine, 1973) describes the support she had at Lucy and what motivates her to support others

Jane made her first gift to Lucy in 1988 and still donates regularly, helping our students thrive.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Lucy and training as a Veterinary Surgeon. I feel that there really is no other institution at all that could possibly have helped me and influenced a very happy professional and personal life.

Jane is an equine veterinary consultant at Buckingham Equine Vets (formerly Nixon Equine Vets which Jane formed in 2005). She holds a number of professional and voluntary positions, including Consultant Veterinary Surgeon to Society of Master Saddlers and Consultant Veterinary Surgeon British Equestrian Federation [BEF] Young Horse Evaluation and Horse Health Schemes. Jane is also a Board Director for the BEF. While at Lucy, Jane gained a Half Blue riding for Cambridge University. Jane is also an Honorary Freeman of the London Livery Company, The Worshipful Company of Saddles , Chair of The University of Buckingham Medical School Fitness to Practice Committee and a non-executive Director of BHSQ
